Dr. Kathrin Böhling
Theme Lead in Sustainable Forestry
Dr. Kathrin Böhling joined Agora Agriculture in March 2025 as Theme Lead in Sustainable Forestry. She develops evidence-based policy options for sustainable and future-oriented forest management at both the German and European levels.
Before joining Agora Agriculture, Kathrin Böhling worked in forestry research and policy consulting for 15 years. At the Bavarian State Institute of Forestry and the Technical University of Munich, her work focused on political governance of EU forest policy, the innovation capacity of forestry stakeholders and social aspects of diversity in forestry.
Dr. Kathrin Böhling studied sociology at the University of Amsterdam and received her PhD from the Technical University of Berlin in 2007. She wrote her dissertation at the Social Science Research Center Berlin.
